This dataset compiles information on officially listed reservoirs in Taiwan, including reservoir name, observation time, cumulative rainfall in the catchment today, inflow, water level, full water level, effective storage, storage percentage, reservoir outflow, and flood-control operating status. It is produced by the disaster emergency response system of the Water Resources Agency’s water-related disaster prevention division. Reservoir management units import or enter readings automatically generated hourly by recording instruments or manually observed once daily. During typhoons or torrential rainfall, reservoirs important for flood response must report hourly cumulative rainfall, inflow, water level, full water level, effective storage, storage percentage, outflow, and flood-control operating status to the Agency’s system. The database provides the latest reservoir conditions to interested users as a basis for tourism, analysis of economic development, academic research, disaster and flood prevention, water allocation, and related uses. Users must take care with color settings: do not use green, yellow, orange, or red, to avoid misleading the public into associating reservoir storage percentages with official water-supply warning signals. Refer to the Water Resources Agency website for the official warning signals: https://www.wra.gov.tw/
